They say all good things must come to a end, right?
I guess that really is true then.
We went to our final game (literally) yesterday at Binghamton to play Candor in the Class C Sectional Finals. When the first half was over it looked like we were going to stay tied at 0-0 up until overtime.
Then the second half started.
Candor scored three goals. And they were all good goals too. They were a very good team. They were just better enough than us to beat us. And beat us they did: We lost, 3-0.
Afterwards the team headed into the locker room to discuss stuff. Then, COach Gravel had up seniors, and captains say our final words.
Teresa said that she was so happy that the rest of the team played their hardest the whole season and she thanked them. I could hear that she was crying. It was really touchig, what she said. And then Gravel had me say something.
I said what I could think of at that moment: “Thanks for making this a great season. It was a good way to end my high school career, so thanks.”
There was so much more that I wanted to say!
========================================
Thank you for making this a great season. When we first started out, I wasn’t sure what to expect of my final year playing SGS. But it was you and your strength and determination that made us come this far. I know that we wouldn’t have come this far if this was a different team. You all pushed yourself to your limits, and you contributed to the team in a positive way. And, as the season continued on, I realized: we’re going to go places. This team would go far. And we did; we went to sectional finals. Even though we still lost, I’ll still remember that at least we went this far. And it wasn’t because just because of two exceptional people. It was because of a team was was made of only exceptional people who knew who to fight and who never gave up, instead trying harder. I have no clue if the college team I’ll hopefully be playing on will get far. So, thanks for making my final season here the best season I’ve ever played in my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you.
We’re going to the finals
Today we beat Southern Cayuga 3-1. It was a great game and we could obviously tell that they wanted to win really bad. The only scored they scored… that was totally my fault. No doubt about it. I feel horrible about it. But next time I’ll stick to my own judgements and not listen to everyone else around me.
Here’s what happened: I was standing in the penalty box near Stephanie, our keeper, ready to take on anyone who got back Chelsea, Ashley, and Kayla. I thought I heard someone tell me to pinch over more so I could help. So I started moving foward. The ball gets hit my way, and I hear Steph scream “KEEPER!” But from some stupid reason on my part, I couldn’t, or didn’t, get out of the way. I tried to get to it, and then at the last second I changed my mind. The whole time I was defintely in Steph’s way. The ball got past her, and another opponent got a foot on the ball. It was totally a misake on my part. My fault and mine only. I hope that she’s not too mad at me. And I hope I don’t make a stupid call like that again, cause something like that could seriously cost a game.
But other than that, we’re headed to the finals! We’ll be playing either Candor or Marathon at the Binghamton Alumni Field this Saturday. More details by the end of the week.
Go SGS!
