All About G

If I twist and pull on the wire at a ridiculous angle, I get sound in both sides. It’ll have to do until I get a replacement. Sucks though, because these headphones have awesome bass.

First, I’ll show you my high school records from way back when.

Finished reading? Okay, here are the records for me now:

60m dash – 8.58 sec
100m dash – (not until spring)
200m dash – 29.80 sec
Long Jump – 4.28m (that’s 14’00.05”)
Triple Jump – 9.58m (that’s 31’5.25”)

My comments on these… well, for some reason, I just can’t get myself to top speed in the 60. I think it’s because I don’t have the time to, or something. I’m much better in the 100 and 200. My 200m dash really sucked this past weekend. Why? Well I overprepped for it. I guess it’s because I was kinda paranoid (that last time I had run a 200 was in 10th grade) and all. But when I had finished it (I had practically died going around the last curve), I knew that I definitely can go fast, and you will all definitely see that when outdoor season rolls around, which will actually be in a couple of weeks, wootness!

My long jump is definitely the best I’ve ever jumped, which makes me really happy. My triple jump’s like, WOW. My high school record was only, what, 27’? And the first time I jumped here, I qualified for states with a jump of 30’. Pretty good, huh?

So I’m anticipating either states (if I’m going or not) or the first meet of the season. I’m really excited because I know I’ll definitely be improving my records, and who knows? Maybe I’ll qualify for more events and with better rankings. I’ll have to wait and see.

(If you couldn’t tell at the moment, Gina’s pissed at the spastic weather here).

There is lots of drama here. Well, at least in my dorm. The only difference is I’m not unwillingly thrust into it, because I choose to be anti-social, more or less. I wouldn’t say I have any kind of “Drama” here, but there are people here that piss me off on a daily basis. Well… just one person, and I wouldn’t say she pisses me off. Cara frustrates me because of how she never seems to listen or even acknowledge my opinion and acts like she’s right no matter what anyone else says and she knows all. I’m probably over-exaggerating, but that’s what it feels like to me.

Anyway, you’re probably wondering where this is coming from. I really shouldn’t, but every now and then, my room mate Jackie will be in our room chatting with one of her friends about something that’s happening like rumors or a fight or whatnot. I don’t listen in too much, so I only pick up bits and pieces. And it made me think this particular day.

Why is there drama here in college? I thought people were gonna be a lot more mature now. Maybe it’s because we’re freshman and just out of Dramaville a.k.a. high school and we’re not used to being adults. Perhaps we just can’t stay away from it, I don’t know. I would think that drama gets in the way of more important things, like studies. I have no idea. All I know is, I believe I have had way more than my share of drama during my sophomore-junior year, and even into my senior year. And I’d rather avoid drama here. Which is one of the few reasons why I think I’m going to try and get a single next year. That way I can leave people alone and they can leave me alone. It’ll be hard and all, and who knows? Perhaps there are already rumors going around about me and how weird I am :sigh:. It’ll be lonely, but at least I won’t have to deal with anymore pointless crap. Or, at least, the chances will be lower.

I’ve been lame folks, sorry. It’s not that I haven’t had anything happen. It’s that I’m too lazy to tell you about it _ So, for the sake of letting everyone know that I’m doing okay, I’m going to update you on what’s been going on.

Let’s see, the first thing that happened, if I recall correctly, was the auditions for IC Unbound. Happily, I got into one of the dances; a hip hip piece, done to the “Here We Go” remix. It’s a lot of fun _ Our second rehearsal is tonight too. The performance is April something-or-other in the Emerson Suites and it costs $5 to get in. You should come :)

Super Tuesday happened next. I got to go home for a day, and I voted for the first time ever. If you didn’t guess from the video below this post, I voted for Obama. And why wouldn’t I? I see him as the best thing for our nation yet. He’ll take us far, and damn you if you don’t realize that

Of course, since me and my sister share a bedroom, and since when I came home, she happened to be sick, about a week later, I got sick too _ I feel much better though. I’m only congested and my throat’s sore. Thank god that my headache’s gone; that was miserable.

Backtracking a little… this past Sunday was the Empire 8 championship. And both IC Men’s and Women’s track teams KICKED ASS. We totally stomped everyone, included the team that hosted it in the first place. HAHA :ahem: (wishes she could use the *) Anyway, a high point for me on that day was when I placed fourth in triple jump with my new record, 31’5”. I was very happy indeed. And hopefully my jumping’ll get even better so that I could qualify for ECAC, hell even NCAPP (I think…), and NCAA…. but I have the best chance of qualifying for the next level over states, ECAC. NCAA is NATIONALS, and the standards are amazingly high.

Hmmmmm… That’s all I can think of for now. I have to run and catch the bus and go to the mall, so until then folks :)
