ahaha, TWO MORE FREAKIN DAYS! I can’t wait; you all have no idea. Seriously. If it weren’t for the fact that my ONLY in-class final was on Friday, I would have been home way earlier.
Ah well, you can’t have everything.
I have a portfolio to finish, plus two take home finals. The damned portfolio would be done too, if it weren’t for the stupid javascript. It TAKES FOREVER. It lags even more than adobe files I read through my browser! What the hell is wrong here?! UGH. DAMN JAVASCRIPT. I would have been done with this stupid thing HOURS ago.
I actually would have been finished with it yesterday, if I had worked on it yesterday (and if java wasn’t so damn slow). And I would have worked on it too, you see (is that ‘to’ earlier in the sentence suppose to have one O or two? The grammar rules have fled my mind for the time being). But I couldn’t move at all yesterday. I was sick… still am. Yesterday I had the worst headache… well not the worst headache I’ve ever had… one time I had a migraine… oh gawd I hope I never get one again. But it was still a bad headache. It hurt to be upright, it hurt to be lying down. It even hurt in the dark or even with my eyes closed. The night before I was freezing; I was bundled up with everything I had and I was still shivering uncontrollably. Very miserable, I’ll tell you. Luckily, thanks to me being in bed all day yesterday (not like I could do much of anything else…) I feel so much better. I believe I’ll feel better by Friday at the latest, as long as I continue to rest.
The only things I have to do are my take home finals, and eventually get this portfolio done (stupid freakin’ javascript… it’s already 10:30, and I’m still not done…). And then the final on Friday, and I’m done. Thank God. It’s about time. I’m really tired of being here… A lot of people don’t seem to understand me… I’ll get into that one later.
... the moonlight and music and dancing are done.
– Ashokan Farewell.
That was one of our chorus songs (my favorite, cause I got to sing a solo :-D) for tonite’s concert. I liked this one so far the best. I had fun… when it wasn’t thundering, and the performance took my mind off of my problems. I feel better. I’m assuming my mom thinks we did a good job, too, and that I did a good job myself. I had fun, and I’m gonna miss the seniors.
And to think it’ll be me having my last concert, next year.
Wow. I’m almost out of high school. Holy crap. I wonder what’s going to happen to me. What am I supposed to expect? Will it be good? Bad? Anything? A big void? Well, the only way to find out is to keep moving foward, even if there’s something trying to hold you back.
***That was the theme of this year’s prom***
I had much fun, to my surprise. The set up the place pretty pretty, and I danced, and danced and danced. Amazingly I danced and chatting with Brian H., though I was kinda unsure of what to do there. But I managed along, stumbling all over the place (not literally, I’m a good dancer whether it is fast or slow), and had a good time,
I’m REALLY exhausted, so before I go I’ll let you know that we took some HOTT pics that sooner or later I’ll put up for your enjoyment. yawn okay g-nite. LOL. *** I’ll add on more to this later.
Examples? ET is the best game to learn about WWII. You wanna know how I know this?
Simple: We started the WWII unit in Social Studies today. And I was kickin’ ass.
So okay, after we take care of a quick geography lesson, we ge started on our notes. I’m extremely bored because I know all this stuff already lol.We watch a video clip showing a little bit about D-Day (you know, the invasion at Normandy that practically sealed our victory against the Axis), and then we move on. Mr. Parrish’s notes have notes, and pictures to illustrate his concepts. The picture that comes up is that of a soldier holding a potato masher (for all of those that don’t know, a potato masher, is a German grenade, shaped mainly like a potato masher). Mr. Parrish asks us “Okay, which side is this soldier on?”
I practically jumped out of my seat. “It’s a German soldier!” I said. The rest of the class half-heartedly chimed in.
“Good. Can you tell how?”
“Because of the grenade: it’s a German potato masher!” I said. Steve looks at me like I’m completely insane. The rest of the class says “the helmet.”
“Yes, that’s a potato masher,” the teacher said pointing out the grenade, “and the german helmets look different from the allied…”
So then we watched another clip. this one had “Big Bertha” in it. Up until that point I wasn’t sure of what exactly it was, but then I saw a clip of it rolling out and firing a round.
“That’s a rail gun,” I spoke in almost awe, mainly to myself. Unbeknownst to me, Mr. Parrish happened to be right behind me, lol, leaning on the radiator watching the clip making sure we’re behaving.
“Yes, that’s a rail gun,” he replied to my comment. He looked kinda surprised, and he looked like he was contemplating something.
So, I spent the class period naming off stuff, like the third theatre in which WWII took place (everyone else said Europe, Pacific, and then I said North Africa), a few names of important ppl, like Churchill of Britain, Mussolini of Italy, FDR of us. When we talked about Hitler’s attempt to invade the USSR, he asked if we knew why they failed. I piped up: “Because the Russian retreated into their own country, and the Germans freezed to death.” He asked what Hitler did during a battle when Mussolini and his family was hung. “He committed suicide.” Why? “Becuase he did not want to end up like Mussolini.” US bombed where? Hiroshima and? “Nagasaki.” Who was ruling Japan? “...”
I didn’t know that one. Turns out it was Hirohito, LOL.
I feel a lil like a nerd: but I can’t help it! ET is awesome! I can’t wait until tomorrow, I’ll be naming off more stuff, lol. What a way to bring up my average easily! I’m so very glad that I have an interest in it, and that I read about it on occasion. I’ll use it to my advantage.
That and my knowledge of the weapons used, due to my experience as a “soldier” during the “war” myself XD
I’m gonna blow everyone away.
Oh yea, and pass this unit with flying colors. I’ll wait until I ace the test, and then tell Parrish about ET. And I’ll sign my test [Ars]Shorty.
I can hardly wait.
Well, no. My score was a 93, but it wasn’t perfect enough. If you want to go to All-State, you HAVE to get a 100. People who get 99’s usually don’t make it depending on how many 100’s there are. Last year, Lauren Lamb tried out for All-State, and got a 99. The band teacher, Mr. Norris, told her that she probably wouldn’t make it. She did, btw, but still! All-State looks only for the BEST.
Hillary scored a 98, and she probably isn’t going to All-State, and she got the highest score out of all of us who tried out, at least from Sidney.
Wanna know why my score wasn’t perfect? I totally nailed my solo: my intonation was right on the mark, and my phrasing was perfect. My dynamics could have been a little more dynamic, BUT I scored perfect for my solo. Unfortunately, I totally BOMBED the sight-reading. I probably would have done fine, if it weren’t for the fact that my judge gave me a piece with a time signature of 6/8.
Damn it.
I’ve worked on common time (4/4), cut time (2/4), and 3/4, but I’ve never seen or tried to sight sing a 6/8 piece.
So, I TOTALLY fucked that up.
I felt horrible. And then, I felt even more horrible when Ms. Olson was telling me and Hillary that she was expecting us to do so much better than we did on the sight reading.
Well gee Ms. O, thanks for being okay with my fucking audition, and thanks for making me feel just a little better with how I did.
Hillary didn’t look that happy when Ms. Olson said that. She had this incredulous look, like her face wsa saying ‘wtfh?! We did so much, and we did real good, and that’s what you have to say?! WTF!?’
Of course, Ms. Olson said she was proud of us, especially me since I flaked out last year and didn’t go, and had a small voice the year before. She said I’ve grown alot in the psat couple of years, and it’s really amazing to see that I got such a high score, even though it wasn’t enough to go to All-State… wait… you were amazed to see me score so high?! I thought you were expecting me to go to All-State
just playing! Even though you have me thoroughly confused now, lol…
But at least we’re all going to Area All-State.
Now, don’t ask me what the difference is between All-State and Area All-State. I honestly don’t know. But at least I have a chance to go SOMEWHERE for my senior year :).
But for now, I can only wait and see.
whew! It’s time for, nerve-wracking stress!

GB - Do you think you’ll do just as good next year as you did this year?
RB - I hope so. I have heard that the junior year is also the most challenging and the most important. But I’m going to try my best and hope I pass.
GB - Well good luck to you.
RB - Thank you.——————————————————————————————————-
And there you have it. Regina Baker passed and is on her way to an important junior year. Let’s hope her friends have passed as well.

YES
IT’S FINALLY DONE AND OVER WITH
I’M DONE WITH EVERYTHING
PRAISE THE LORD
Yes, I am done with my tests and everything. I feel so proud of myself. Now I have an entire summer to do nothing becuase all of my friends are busy… well except for Laura, I’m going to hang with her and catch up on old times. You’re all probably wondering “what happened to Kasedy???”
Well, since everytim I see her, she gets all pissed off at me for the simplist reasons, I’ve decided to take a break from her. And I was going to spend more time with my other friends. I haven’t seen Laura in what, two years now. And I don’t usually get to hang out with her becuase normally Kasedy is instead. And since Laura is my bestest friend in the world (that’s female; right now the best guy friend is a tie between Steve and Austin), I have missed her and I want to chill with her like before. But Kasedy’s mad at me becuase of it.
I’m sorry Eddy, but me and Laura are really close. Closer than you and me. And I’ve missed her and I want to hang out with her again. DOn’t take offense if I’m not spending as much time with you as I used to, cuase I do have other friends…
Anyway, I’m going to PA this Monday, and I’m coming back around thursday of Friday (earlier than expected becuase we want to aviod to crazy 4th of July traffic). So nobody miss me too much… well, nobody’s going to really miss me that much anyhow so, forget I said that.
Anyway, I’m going to go find something to eat. Till then, the cat is eating the hot dog.
